Helpful Hints for Logging Community Service Hours in x2Vol
*Reminder – 5 volunteer hours for each grade level
Students will log on to Naviance from the USD library page
On the left hand side click Naviance.
If it’s the first time a student has logged on to the site, they will fill out an interest inventory. Otherwise, once they log in, it will take them right to the Common Task Page.
Under Common Tasks – Click on Add hours
Click on Create New – label the activity and write a short description of your project.
Do not click on Add Files – skip this part.
Click what the Interest is. Most of the time it will be humanitarian.
Activity Contact – The students will type the person’s name that can verify their activity. Then they enter the contact person’s phone number OR e-mail address. (If a student brings a note to the core teacher signed by the person they volunteered for, they can add core teacher’s e-mail address as the contact person.)
Students will apply hours to the goal by clicking the circle. * This step gets skipped the most. *
Students will check the box agreeing to the integrity of the activity
Skip the comment section.
Click the Verify Hours Button.
If all goes well, you will get a box that pops up stating you were successful in claiming your hours.
